Review
While this book
is part of the Limelight Series, it can be read as a standalone without any
confusing gaps. This is the second book by this new author and I can tell
she is going to have a very promising career. This story revolves around
Skye and Landon. Skye has lived a very privileged life. She is the daughter of the Mayor and is
always aware of how her actions could affect her father’s career. She has always been on the straight and
narrow path and that included dating Vic, the son of one of her father’s campaign
contributors. That is, until she finally
has her limit of Vic’s jealous ways and decides she is done with him. Only he doesn’t see it that way and his anger
turns physical. She knows she can’t
report him to anyone as it would look badly on her father, so she decides to
just move on.
After a month of feeling sorry for
herself, her roommate decides they are going out. Skye really doesn’t want to, but gives
in. Once there she attracts the
attention of a gorgeous stranger and have one HOT make out session. When she comes to her senses she flees and is
only left with memories of her careless actions.
Landon was blown away by the mystery woman
who turned his world upside down. He
couldn’t stop thinking about her and had no way of finding out who she
was. He was royally screwed. That is until he shows back up to his office a
couple of weeks later and finds out that his new assistant is none other than
the infamous mystery woman! Can you feel
the tension yet?
Both Landon and Skye can’t believe
it. They have both thought about each
other so much and no amount of time had cooled off their reactions to each
other. Determined to keep their
relationship professional, they both try to push away how they are feeling and
try to be friends. However, that will
only last so long. I mean really, who is
going to want to deny their fantasy person?

Soon they can’t deny their feelings for
each other and decide to dive into a relationship. However, they plan on keeping on the DL for now,
after all Landon is her boss. But just
when you think they will get their HEA, Vic comes back into the picture and
threatens to publish a topless photo of Skye unless she comes back to him. Skye knows this would hurt her father’s run
for the Senate and Landon’s PR company.
So she makes one of the hardest decisions of her life and leaves
Landon. Landon is devastated. Not only did he lose Skye and not know why,
but someone from his past shows up with news that will change his life.
Will Skye ever get out for under Vic’s
