REVIEW & GIVEAWAY ~ HARD TO HOLD by Incy Black

 Book Synopsis
Anna Key Marshall is about to get what she’s always wanted: a baby. Granted, it’s through a sperm donor instead of her ex-husband, but you can’t have everything. She has no idea why someone wants her dead, but she’ll do whatever it takes to protect her unborn child—even if it means turning to her ex, the Black Ops specialist who broke her heart.
Five years ago, British Intelligence agent Nick Marshall slammed the door on the woman who betrayed him. But now Anna’s back in his life with a vengeance, pregnant and full of attitude. He’d like nothing better than to walk away, but with her life on the line, he has no choice but to do what he does best—protect her at all costs.
As old wounds resurface, Nick begins to doubt his version of what went down with Anna so long ago. And he begins to believe they might have a second chance together. But with Anna’s would-be killer on the loose—it will take the full force and fury of his protective instincts, fueled by a powerful love he can’t leave behind, to hold on to the woman he still loves.

Review

This was such a heart wrenching story right from the beginning.  The book starts off with Anna in the hospital after being pushed in front of a car.  When her ex-husband, Nick, shows up because he is still listed as an emergency contact, things go from bad to worse.  You could tell right for the beginning that they had some serious unresolved issues that needed to be worked out.  He didn’t believe her story about being pushed and she was not in the mood to listen to him.  After they leave the hospital he refuses to leave her alone and wants to make sure she is ok.  Soon their tempers flare and she lets him know how she feels.  She also drop the bomb that she is pregnant.   Nick can’t believe what she just said and storms away.
When he learns the threats against her are real, he is determined to learn who the father of Anna’s baby is as he thinks he may be responsible.  He soon finds out that she got pregnant by means of artificial insemination.  Even then, he believes all her troubles are because of the baby’s father.  When the threats against Anna and the attempts on her life escalate, Nick will do everything in his power to keep her safe.
Will Anna and her baby be safe?  Will Nick be able to track down who is after her?  Will they be able to put aside their differences and their past to find their HEA?  If you want to know, you are going to have to get this book.  It really will keep you on the edge of your seat praying that Anna and her baby will be ok.  The book sucks you in right from the beginning and keeps a hold on you until the end.  And let me say, what an ending!!  Shew, it really is that good.  If you like hot, alpha men with deep emotional issues and your heroine strong and resilient, this is the story for you.  Like I said, I truly enjoyed this book and I think you will too!  Make sure to get your copy today!

Author Bio:
It took a swan dive from a roof to convince Incy (aged 5) she wasn’t an avenging fairy and that no, she most certainly couldn’t fly.  Bruised but undefeated she retreated deeper into her make-believe world populated with the brave and the poisonous.
When not fighting injustice and righting wrongs on ‘Planet Incy’, she works as a Marketing Director. (Unfortunately, her law degree languishes unused, the distinction between good and evil proving too worrisome in real life.)
Her five children are well versed in what scares her (most things) and delight in pushing her neurotic buttons—at their peril.
