Release Day of the COURAGE ANTHOLOGY -- ALL PROCEEDS WILL BENEFIT THE AVON WALK FOR BREAST CANCER

About the Courage Anthology charity:
All proceeds from sales will benefit the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer via the Fifty Shades of Pink team.
FIFTY SHADES OF PINK team is made up of a group of girlfriends who raise funds annually to participate in the Avon 2 Day Breast Cancer Walk in Santa Barbara, CA.
For one weekend in September, we wake up before the crack of dawn, dress in as much Pink as humanly possible and prepare to walk for 39.9 miles.
We suffer and laugh through:
        Torn muscles which require surgery
Blisters that are almost covering your entire foot and body parts you never realize you could get a blister on (ButtCrackGate 2013)
Passing out in the triage medical unit
Sleeping in a tent on the grass
Taking the best mobile showers EVER
        Limping like old ladies
Cursing at the curbs to get onto the sidewalk (Walk 39 miles and you will be cursing at them too).
We do this all in the hopes that no other Mother, Sister, Aunt or Friend will have to deal with Breast Cancer.

***Money raised from the anthology will go towards the 2015 Avon Walk***

Never Been Ready (The Ready Series Book 2) by J.L. Berg

Leah Morgan was done with men. After barely surviving a horrendous childhood, and a boyfriend who bailed when things got rough, Leah had given up on love. Then she met him, Hollywood’s new golden boy who suddenly had eyes only for her. She tried to convince herself that one night couldn’t hurt, but after six months, the memories of his mesmerizing gaze and searing touch still invaded her every thought.

Declan James had just one rule when it came to women. Keep it simple, and never linger. That all changed the moment he met Leah. Even across a crowded bar, he could tell she was different. Sweet, with just the right amount of sass, she made him break his golden rule and now he couldn’t walk away.

When casual becomes anything but, and emotions run deep, will Leah and Declan fight their fears, or let old insecurities tear them apart? When Declan’s past comes roaring back in a way neither of them could have expected, will they stand united or be torn apart by the challenges that lie ahead?

It was only supposed to be one night, but only forever will do.

Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her. REVIEW:

Oh goodness,  where do I even start?  This book has a little of everything: heartbreak, loss, excitement, second chance love, hot steamy sex, suspense, humor, oh and did I mention HOT, HOT sex?  I'll admit I was hesitant to read this book as I was not "ready" for a sad story; however, I am so glad I read it.  While there is sadness and grief, there is also so much more.

Caroline lost the man she thought she was going to spend the rest of her life with and had not lived in two years.  When her mother asked for her help in cleaning out her grandmothers house, she did not expect her life to change.  And she certainly didn't expect to run into her first love.

Luke has loved Caroline since the day they met, but was too stubborn to tell her and lost her to his brother.  While he has never quit loving her, he never thought he would get the chance to make her his.  When she unexpectedly runs across his path, he knows he has to have her.

This was a great story about Caroline and Luke finding their HEA.  Caroline has such a hard time letting herself live again and feels guilty that she has feelings for Luke.  Luke is determined to make Caroline see that she belongs to him and he will do anything it takes to make her happy. I love how Luke shows her how to live again and knows just what she needs in order to be the person she used to be.

I truly enjoyed this book and will happily admit that I didn't want it to end.  I fell in love with Caroline and Luke and couldn't get enough of them.  I loved the ending and felt it fit them perfectly.  I can't wait for the next book in the series about Caroline's brother Carson.  Hopefully it will be out soon and I won't have to suffer too long!  Make sure to get your copy of Awakening today and fall in love with Luke and Caroline just like I did!

EXCERPT:

"That's my driveway you're standing in," said a deep southern drawl. I stepped back to see a man in a big black four door truck.

"Oh, gosh, I'm sorry," I said, taking a more few steps back so he could turn in.

I was waiting for him to head further down the road when he stopped the truck in my path and got out. He was tall, well over six feet. His eyes were hidden by a pair of sun glasses, but I recognized him instantly.

"I'm just going to check the mail," he said. "What're you doing out here anyway?" As he opened the mailbox and reached in to retrieve his mail, I noticed the way the muscles in his arms flexed.

"I was just out for a run," I said waiting for him to recognize me.

He looked over at me and stopped abruptly, as if seeing me for the first time. He lifted the sunglasses off his face and stared at me wordlessly. His dark green eyes held me motionless. He walked a couple of steps towards me raising his hand to touch my cheek.

Sparks flew, and I inhaled sharply.

"Caroline," he said hesitantly, and then dropped his hand, searching my eyes.

My skin was burning where he touched it, but I managed to nod slowly.
"Hi Luke."

He didn't say anything for a moment, almost as if he wasn't sure what to do next.

"I heard about your grandmother. My condolences for your loss."

"Thank you," I said, looking down.

I felt a bead of sweat run between my breasts and suddenly realized how I must look.

"You are so damn beautiful." He smiled brilliantly, and my God his lips looked kissable. I tried not to think about how they would feel on me, and realized I was staring at them. God, my hormones were raging! I quickly cleared my throat, and tried to steer the conversation in another direction.

"Since when do you have anything nice to say to me?"

"Caroline, come on. We were such good friends once. I know I didn't treat you well for a long time, but I never stopped caring about you."

"I don't want to rehash the past Luke."

"Caroline, I lost you and Mark in the same day, and it broke my heart. I wondered how you were, how you were coping. I thought about calling you a million times, but I never knew what to say. Since then, I've been trying to get my life back on track, live in the moment and not dwell on the things I can't change, but you being here...... it's like a second chance."

I shook my head at him.

"I haven't moved on Luke. I still miss Mark every day, and I haven't forgotten how you treated me all those years."

He looked at me sympathetically. "I apologized for all that already. And I miss him too, you know."

"You used to stare at me like you couldn't stop looking, and then you would barely speak more than a word to me when I tried to talk to you. You accosted me in hallways, kissed me, screamed at me, disappeared. That's not something I can just forget, apology or not."

His green eyes simmered as his eyes narrowed.

"How was I supposed to act when the one thing I wanted most wasn't mine to have?"

Review of AUDREY EXPOSED by Roxy Queen

AUDREY EXPOSED
Author: Roxy Queen
Genre: Erotic Romance
~ SYNOPSIS ~
For Audrey her body is her worst enemy. For Graham it’s his biggest temptation.

With his assistance she must embark on a journey to conquer her fears by allowing herself to discover feelings of pleasure, the power of her body and the thrill of sex.

With each revelation they sink deeper into one another, merging into the other’s lives in and outside their protective bubble.

There’s only one goal. One objective and together they’ll break new ground, layer by layer, until Audrey’s exposed.

~ REVIEW ~

First let me start out by saying that this book is not your typical erotic romance.  We don't just jump right into bed with Audrey and Graham; however, you can't help but get sucked into their world.  Audrey has severe anxiety that prevents her from letting someone get close to her, including sex.  When her psychiatrist tells her of a new experimental exposure therapy that would help her overcome her sexual anxiety, she is skeptical.  However, she wants to be normal, so she decides to at least give the therapy a chance.
Graham is a post-grad student who is chosen to work with Audrey to help her overcome her sexual anxiety.  Graham is no stranger to the bedroom and he knows that his particular skills will be needed to help her.  Each session is designed to gradually help Audrey relax and enjoy even the slightest touches.
You will soon find yourself so wrapped up in Audrey's life and willing her to overcome her demons that you can't put the book down.  You want to know how she is going to react and what Graham is going to do in order to soothe her.  You want her to get better so that she feels better about herself.  And you can't help but fall for Graham and how patient he is with her.  He never forces her to do anything she is not comfortable with and gives her all the space she needs.
I really enjoyed this book.  I seriously couldn't put it down and was not ready for it to be over.  While the book does not necessarily have a cliffhanger, you are left wanting more.  The good news is that the second book, Graham Defined, is set to be released later this year.  I can't wait to see if these two will defy the odds and make their relationship work, I truly hope they do.
Make sure to get your copy today and go on the roller coaster ride of emotions while Audrey finds her inner strength and Graham realizes there is more to life than just sex.

~ EXCERPT ~
I wipe my hands on my dress, staring at the numbers 806 on the gold metal plate. This is it, Audrey. You’ll walk in that door a girl and eventually come out a woman.
“I’m such a loser,” I mumble to myself, and twist the doorknob.
A man hops up from the love seat when I enter. He has dark hair and a defined, closely shaved jaw. He’s handsome, definitely not smelly or gross, and strangely familiar.
“Have we met before?” I blurt, trying to place him.
“Um… I don’t think so,” he says, flashing a heart-stopping smile. His eyes meet mine and they’re bluer than blue. Henry Cavill.
“Oh, I saw you going up the elevator last week.”
“Right. Of course, I remember that,” he says with an even brighter smile. Adorable dimples appear on his cheeks. He holds out his hand. “You were loitering in the lobby. I’m Graham.”
I remember why I’m here and my face burns, surely, turning bright red. I take his hand anyway and say, “Audrey.”
“Right.”
“Right,” I repeat feeling like an idiot.
“Would you like to sit down?” he asks.
“I guess so, thanks.” I take the same spot as the other day but this time I sit in the middle, hoping he doesn’t try to sit next to me. What am I doing here?
Graham sits across from me and says, “I know this is all new for you, but please don’t be uncomfortable. Dr. Markson has told me all about your situation and I just want to help. I think together we have a really good chance of defeating your anxiety.”
His speech is so sincere and he’s giving me the most empathetic smile. I want to die of humiliation. Covering my face with my hands, I groan. “Oh God, this is so embarrassing.”
“Why?”
“Because you know I’m a defective misfit; and you’re here to help me with something I never share with anyone. Like ever, yet you’re just talking about it like its normal.”
“It’s your normal,” he says.
“Yeah. Whatever.” I cross my arms over my chest and nervously look around the room, anywhere but at him. I notice a small black journal on the coffee table. “What’s that?”
“Those are our instructions and guidelines for the day.” He picks the book up, and says, “Want me to read them?”
My stomach burns from anxiety. I want run from the room and never look back. “I guess we may as well see what this is all about.”

I feel his eyes on me, and when I turn I almost recoil at the intensity behind his stare. “Can you stop acting like we’re two old friends shooting the shit when you know good and fucking well you’re thinking the same thing I am.”

My mouth falls open and I force it shut, only to have it drop open again.

“I’ve hand my hands and my mouth all over every inch of that gorgeous body, Eve. You think I can’t read you? Know what you’re thinking about right now?”

I swallow hard. “What am I thinking about?”

“Same thing I am.”
