EXCERPT:
“I’m done.” I
said. Then the sob broke from my throat
and tore completely through my body. In
between hiccupping breaths I looked at my best friend and said the words I
never thought I’d hear myself say, “I want to home.”

Such a sweet, heartfelt story. Lily had dreamed of being a famous county
music singer since she was little, so after graduation she moved to Nashville
to start her career. Before long, she
was county music’s next big star.
However, her success comes with a price.
After 12 years, she has had enough and decides to call it quits and move
home. The first person she sees when she
comes home is her grandpa. He is so
happy she came home. However, not
everyone gives her such a warm welcome.
Justin has been
in love with Lily his whole life, so when she picks up and moves to Nashville
he is devastated. He has always wanted
her to be happy, but he thought at some point she would come home and they
would be together. In the 12 years she
was gone, they only spoke a few times. So
when he sees her for the first time, their reunion was less than
heartwarming.
Soon they both
begin to lower their walls and Justin lets her know that he has always loved
her and he has not felt whole with her being gone. Lily begins to realize that she is in love
with her best friend, but she is scared to open herself up for heartache. The last time she let someone end, it ended
badly and that is putting it mildly.
After a while they find themselves in a relationship neither thought
would happen. They are both so happy,
until news of Lily being in danger puts everyone on edge.
When Lily agrees
to do a small show to help her hometown, everyone is well aware of the danger. While Lily’s family and Justin scramble to
make sure she is safe, Lily has to come to terms with what has happened in her
past. What happened when she first moved
to Nashville and met Colton, the music executive. What he did to her, what he is after
now. She even wonders if she can escape
his greed.
After her show
she is forced to talk with Colton and is scared for her life. Is she going to survive? Will Justin ever realize just how much she
loves him? Will Lily ever be able to
open her heart to Justin fully? You will
need to get this book in order to find out.
I have to say, that I honestly enjoyed this book from the beginning to
the end. I felt such longing and pain
Lily that I really wanted her to find her HEA.
I wanted her to be with Justin and have a wonderful life. After everything that she has went through in
her career, I could easily understand why she wanted out and wanted to come
home.
Ah,
and how could I not love Justin? He has
been her #1 supporter from the beginning and only ever wanted her to be
happy. Yes, he would have loved for her
to stay home, but he knew she needed to blossom on her own. When she comes back to town, he is
overwhelmed by the feelings he has for her.
When he tells her how much she means to him, oh man………I couldn’t help
but love him more!! This is such a great
story about coming back to your roots and realizing what is really important in
life. Please, please go get your copy
today. I promise you will not be
disappointed!EXCERPT:
“I can’t do this anymore,” I said as I closed my eyes. I grabbed my phone, pushed a couple buttons
and put it to my ear.
“Who are you calling?” Sarah asked.
I just shook my head and looked to the floor. I heard the call be picked up on the other
side.
“Lillian, it’s late, is everything okay?”
“Mr. Vangoal. Sorry
to bother you at this hour. I need to
meet with you immediately. Can you be in
Des Moines, Iowa by tomorrow afternoon?” I asked.
Sarah’s eyebrows scrunched in confusion, likely wondering
why I was calling my lawyer at 11:30pm after having a nervous breakdown.
“I think that should be ok, Lillian. I’ll have my secretary check in the morning
and let you know the details. Are you in
some kind of trouble?” he asked.
“No trouble. I just
need your help.”
“Okay,” he said, but I could hear the concern in his voice.
“Thank you. And
please, this meeting needs to be confidential,” I stressed.
“As always, Miss Raftzen.
I’ll see you tomorrow.” “Good
night Mr. Vangoal.”
I pushed the button to end the call and tossed my phone onto
the bed.
“Can you please share with me what the hell is going on?”
Sarah asked.
I stood on shaky legs
and walked to make sure the door was securely locked. As I turned around, I could see the worry on
Sarah’s face. I was always so strong and
composed. Very rarely did I fall
apart. And when I did it was always when
I was completely alone. But now, the
wetness that had hit my eyes was beginning to take form and fall down my cheeks
in a steady stream.
“I’m going to meet with my lawyer tomorrow afternoon in Des
Moines,” I said quietly. “And together
we’re going to begin the process of me quitting the Country Music business.”
“Oh my God,” Sarah
breathed.
