Violet Carmichael knew her second year of college would be tough, but nothing could have prepared her for what was about to happen…
Violet’s goal is clear—to finish college and work alongside her father and uncle at their family business—but she has one major problem. The dreaded Professor Torres, head of the Architectural Department at Tulane, has a reputation as one of the toughest teachers on campus. Violet has heard more than once that he can be a downright jerk, but she’s determined to not let him get in her way.
He might be a successful professor, but his personal life is nothing short of a mess…
Diego Torres has the worst track record when it comes to women—which is why when he first lays eyes on his new student, he assumes she’s like all the other superficial Barbie dolls he’s always been attracted to. But it only takes a few encounters for him to realize he couldn’t have been more wrong, and the more time he spends with Violet, the more he desires her in a way no professor should desire a student.
Sometimes it’s impossible to walk away, even when there’s so much at stake…
After desperately trying avoid crossing that thin ethical line, Diego and Violet are no longer able to deny the sexual tension between them and risk everything, falling into an all-consuming, passionate relationship. But when outsiders threaten to destroy it all, Diego has no choice but to make a life-altering decision for himself and the woman he is forbidden to love.
As lines between student and professor begin to blur, the consequences might end up destroying them both…

REVIEW

Humm, let's just say I am 100% hot for teacher!! Diego fell for Violet hard and fast. The first time he laid eyes on her he knew she would be a game changer. However, the last thing he wanted to do was get involved with a student.

Violet knew the way Diego made her feel was life changing. Each time she was around him, she fell a little more under his spell. He made he want things she had never dared to want with anyone else.

Slowly the two began to explore what was between them and let me say, it was amazing. Diego knew how Violet felt and never rushed her into anything. I absolutely loved him for that. I honestly think that taking their time made them undeniably stronger as a couple.

The author did a wonderful job of creating a story that you could get lost in. I fell in love with this family with the first book in the series and this read has only strengthened my love for them. I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next and who the book will be about!!

A knock on my office door has me looking up to find Violet standing there. "Come in and please shut the door." She does and then sits down on the other side of my desk. "Ms. Carmichael, I asked you to come meet me to discuss your design. I’d like you to answer me honestly. Who helped you?" There was no reason to beat around the bush.
"What do you mean, who helped me? No one did." I see that familiar spark in her eyes. "Do you really think I’d turn in something that I honestly didn’t do by myself?"
"Well, Ms. Carmichael, people will sometimes do anything to make themselves look good."
Violet pushes herself up until she’s standing and slaps her hands on my desk. "Are you kidding me right now? I did that design all by myself. How dare you accuse me of having someone help me? I’ll show you right now that I did it alone." She grabs her laptop out of her bag and slaps it on my desk.
I watch in stunned silence as she pulls up a program on her laptop and starts tapping away on her
keyboard. She stops and picks it up, coming around to my side, and I watch as she works with a speed that seriously impresses me. It’s very obvious that I’ve made a mistake here. Violet knows what she’s doing and is confident in her work. Before I can stop myself, I reach out and place my hand on her arm to stop her typing.
"Why’d you stop me?" she asks as I stand up. We’re so close we’re almost touching. This close to her, I can see the gold flecks in her eyes.
"I believe you. I’m sorry I thought you had help. Yours was the best I’ve seen in a long time." I warm inside when I watch a touch of pink bloom on her cheeks. "You’re extremely gifted." I feel myself lean toward her and feel her lean toward me. It’s like we’re two magnets, and the pull is intense. I’ve never in my life felt this kind of pull toward someone. If I’m being honest, it freaks me out just a little. Right now I’d give my left nut to be able to mark her, to taste her.
My office phone ringing breaks the spell, and we both lean back. Violet doesn’t say a word—she just stares at me with those hypnotic eyes of hers. The phone stops ringing, but I don’t care.
She finally speaks. "Um…th-thank you for believing me. I should probably go."
Violet’s gone before I can even stop her.

Growing up in a small town isn’t easy, especially when you’re the daughter of a local cult leader. Ten years ago, Eden Collins left Clear Springs, Montana, and never once looked back. But when the bodies of murdered young women surface, their corpses violated and marked with tattoos worn by her mother’s followers, Eden, now an FBI agent, can’t turn a blind eye. To catch the killer, she’s going to have to return to the fold.

Sheriff Zach Owens isn’t comfortable putting Eden in danger, even if she is an elite agent. And he certainly wasn’t expecting to be so attracted to her. As calm and cool as she appears, he knows this can’t be a happy homecoming. Zach wants to protect her—from her mother, the cult, and the evil that lurks behind its locked gates. But Eden is his only key to the tight-lipped group, and she may just be closer to the killer than either one of them suspects…

REVIEW

Wow, that was one twisting, turning, unexpected read.  I knew this book was different then what I was used to by Ms. Robert, but I wasn't fully prepared for how much different it was going to be.  Don't get me wrong, it was NOT a bad read.  Actually, it was just the opposite.  This book drug me into the taboo world of cults and held me hostage until I turned the last page.

Eden left town as soon as she could in order to escape the world her mother created.  She wanted no part of the cult and could not picture herself having a future there.  However, when she learns of a recent murder that sheds some light on her past, she is determined to get justice, even if that means returning to the life she left behind.

Zach had the honor of being sheriff to a mostly peaceful town.  The only real blight in the town was the cult everyone knew about; that is until a young girl was murdered.  He is determined to find out who killed her; however, the last thing he wants to do is put anyone else in danger. Especially the unexpected beauty who shows up to help.

This was truly a read that had it all: romance, murder, lies, suspense, etc.  With each  page that I read, I kept getting dragged into the unknown world of cults and how things are never really what they seem.  The characters were well written and I wanted them to not only survive, but to also get their HEA.  The author did a wonderful job of creating a story that made you want to keep turning the pages.  I HAD to know what was going to happen next and that lead to a couple of hours of lost sleep.

If you are in the market for a suspenseful read where you also get a HEA, you will not be disappointed with this one.  Make sure to pick up your copy today and explore the suspenseful work of cults while trying to figure out who the killer is!

Excerpt
By the time she made it back to the courtyard, it was empty, everyone having gone off to their varying duties. Martha might be a monster of a particular variety, but she had a well-run establishment. But then, she would. Keep her people too busy to stop and wonder about some of the insane shit she preaches. That saying about idle hands didn’t originate with the Greeks, but her mother had never been shy about incorporating whatever dogma she found most useful. No one questioned it.
No one but Eden.
And she’d paid for every question she’d asked.
She stopped next to her car, slowing her movements, because if she didn’t exert total control, she was going to fling herself into the driver’s seat and tear out of here as fast as the car could go. She wouldn’t stop in Clear Springs. She’d just keep driving until she put a few states between her and Elysia.
Not an option. You made damn sure of that.
She noticed the door was unlocked and frowned. Had she locked it when she got here? Eden couldn’t be sure. She’d been so rattled and practically bursting with adrenaline and dread that it was entirely possible she’d headed for her mother’s house without pausing to lock the door.
But she didn’t think so.
She opened the driver’s door cautiously, half expecting something to explode. She only had cursory bomb training, so even if she swept the vehicle, she couldn’t be sure she’d find something. If there was even something to find. Hello, paranoia, my old friend. She turned a slow circle, trying to figure out if someone would have had enough time to plant something. If a person had the know-how, setting up a bomb in a half hour was cake.
Way to be reassuring.
She leaned back into the car, a flash of white and yellow catching her eye. Frowning, she leaned in farther and used the pen in her cup holder to hook the circular wreath of daisies lying on the floorboard of the passenger side. It looked like the kind of thing she’d made when she was a kid and bored out of her ever-loving mind during the summer. She’d weave together the flowers that grew in the fields of Elysia into something very similar to this and wear it while she pretended she was Persephone, just waiting for her Hades to appear and whisk her away to be his queen. Eden dropped it like it’d caught fire. She’d completely forgotten about playing that game. Hell, no one knew she’d done it. She’d always been alone out there.
Or so she’d thought.
She wanted to throw the flowers away, to rip the wreath apart and grind it beneath her boots. But it was most definitely some kind of evidence. Even if there was no trace on there to find whoever had left it, it was proof that someone had been watching her when she got here.
Apparently my instincts aren’t as ravaged as I thought.
She wasn’t sure if that was comforting or terrifying.

She told me Heaven would knock on my door one day.
That I would be swept away from the hell I lived in.
She was right about one thing and so wrong about the other.
Heaven came in the form of an angel just like she said.
Beautiful.
Perfect.
An angel.
And then.
My life became hell.
She disappeared. Vanished.
I left. Went to war. Killed. All for her.
Every face was the man who took her.
Every dream filled with her.
For twelve years I existed in hell. Breathed in the fires from down below.
Until her, the woman on the beach outside of my home.
Captivating.
Enchanting.
Mesmerizing.
It couldn't be my Cora, my angel, my heaven on earth.
She was dead.
Wasn't she?
