REVIEW

This book was everything that I hoped it would be and then some.  Sylvie had one wild and crazy night at her cousin's wedding that ended with her secret crush in her bed.  When she wakes up the next morning, she is shocked at what happened and vowed to never tell anyone. However, Evan has other plans.

He didn't realize that the girl that followed him and his best friend around when they were younger would grow up to be such a knock out.  When he spends an incredible night with her, he knows that she is who he wants to spend his future with.  Now all he has to do is convince Sylvie. 

This book has it all: heat, humor, longing, and most importantly, a HEA.  I loved each and every word. I loved how Evan would stop at nothing to show Sylvie that she belonged with him and how Sylvie started to realize that not every relationship ends in heartbreak.  I thought the author did a wonderful job of creating a story that sucks you in and keeps you turning the pages.  I loved the ending and can't wait to read Piper's story!     

   


Excerpt: I was dabbing at my coffee stain when a knock sounded on the door. “Come on in, Grey.”
The door opened, and he walked in. “It’s not Grey.”
My head jerked up to see Evan standing there. “What are you doing here?”
“Sorry for the subterfuge, but I had to find a way to see you. You’re quite stubborn, you know.”
“So you lied?”
He shrugged. “With permission.”
I gawked at him. “What does that mean?”
“It means I spoke to Grey first. He said it was okay.”
“Oh, my God. You’re both conspiring against me.”
“Sweets, I only wanted to return something of yours and you gave me such a hard time of it, this was the only way I knew how.”
“What are you talking about?”
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a thong. Then the bastard dangled it in front of me. “Recognize this?”
Shit. It was mine. I went to snatch it, but he pulled it out of my reach. “Oh, no. It won’t be that easy. In order to get it back, you have to go to dinner with me.”
“What? That’s blackmail.”
“Not really. What will I do to you if you don’t go?”
He really couldn’t do anything.
“See, you get my point. We can go anywhere you’d like, as long as it’s a sit down dinner where they have a great wine list.”
“And if I choose not to go?”
He smirked. “That’s easy. I get to keep this.”
Then the asshole put it up to his nose and inhaled. “Ahh, my favorite scent.”

 REVIEW
This book.....this book is so much more than your typical romance novel. It got me right from the beginning and and I was hooked.  Right from the start we experience both Codie and Ryder's painful past and what has lead them to be the people they are today.  Let's just say, they have to overcome a lot of hurt and pain.

Codie, wow, she is so much stronger then she realizes.  She was dealt a horrible hand in life and yet, she hasn't quit.  I loved her right from the beginning.  My heart hurt for her and when Ryder shows up on her doorstep I couldn't help but scream YES!!  

Ryder hasn't been his old self since his rescue and subsequent recovery.  He feels a void inside that he doesn't know what to do with.  When he spots his mysterious neighbor, he knows exactly what his heart wants.  The only question is, can they finally find their HEA or will they lose everything?

I honestly could not put this book down.  Once I started reading it, I had to know that Codie and Ryder would be okay.  I had to know that they would help each other heal and overcome their demons.  This book has it all: love, romance, fear, action and yes, a HEA.  I can't recommend this book enough.  Great job Ms. Donn!!  I can't wait to read the other books in this series to watch the rest of these big, bad men fall!
