C.A. Harms is a go-to author for me. She is someone that I can count on to always provide a story that sucks you and keeps you wanting more. This book definitely falls in line with that statement. Shane and Janelle are two characters that your heart is instantly drawn to. Shane because he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and Janelle because she loves with her whole heart. From the first time they meet the sparks fly and the pull to one another only gets stronger the more they are around each other.
Shane wants Janelle more than he has wanted anyone in a long time, but he can't allow himself to have that life. He has to stay the course in order to provide for his mom and give her everything she deserves. When the weight of the world starts bogging him down, he knows that Janelle can be the outlet he needs, if only he is brave enough to grab it.
Janelle knows there is more to Shane than what meets the eye, but she isn't sure how to get through to him. She knows he feels the same pull she does, but there always seems to be something holding him back. If she can only get him to trust her, she will show him she is not like the others from his past.
I absolutely loved this book. My heart hurt for Shane and everything he was going through. He is such a great person that you can't help but want him to reach out and lean on someone, share his heavy load. I loved that Janelle came into his life and provided the wake up call that he needed. She is such a strong character and is exactly what Shane needs. I also loved Shane's friends and Janelle's sisters and I can't wait to read their stories. If they are half as good as this one, they are going to be awesome!!
