Overview

 

     This book has a little bit of everything: heartache, loss, romance, suspense and my favorite part, a HEA.  The story centers around two characters death and how their family/friends lives are affected.   It is told in several different POV’s in order to show how everyone is dealing with the sudden loss of their loved ones. 

      Randie moved back to town and in with her sister after her brother and brother-in-law died in an accident at work.   In the beginning she struggles with accepting the changes in her life.  She was living in NYC working as a waitress enjoying the city life and now is back home to help her sister run her restaurant and raise her three children. 

     Joe feels guilty because he could not do anything to help his best friend, Randie’s brother, survive the accident at work.  He also has no desire to begin any relationship with someone after he has been burned in the past.   

     Kay feels guilty that her sister has uprooted her life in order to help her take care of her family and business.  She wants Randie to be happy and find someone to spend her life with.

      Penny feels lost without Tyler, Randie and Kay’s brother, and is not sure how to move on with her life.  She has a difficult home life and is not sure how much she can handle without cracking.  After receiving an unexpected gift, her life is turned around and she has hope for the future. 

      Mary and Al, Joe’s best friend and his wife, are struggling like everyone else in trying to make sense of the recent tragedy.   They are soon blessed with news that they are expecting another child and couldn’t be happier.

      Questions arise at the mill where the men work as to what caused the accident that cost of lives of two men and how it could have been prevented.  The owner’s son, Jared, is determined to not cost his dad any more money than is necessary for the accident.  

     Soon Randie and Joe start to become closer and just as their relationship is taking off, a stalker sets his sights on Randie.  Penny gets a break and begins to pick up the pieces of her life after Tyler’s death.  Mary and Al are hit with a tragedy and that only strengthens their love for each other.  Jared will go to extreme measures to protect his father’s company, but soon comes to a startling realization that will change his life.

**Provided ARC For Review**

 

     Once I started this book I could not put it down.  I was hit hard with the loss everyone felt and I wanted to know that everyone would be ok.  There were several parts in this book that I was screaming NOOOOO as it was killing me what was happening.  I really wasn’t sure how much tragedy I could take.  I fell for each of the characters and each time something happened, I wanted to reach out to them and tell them to keep their head up.  Yes, I know that is crazy, but that is how I felt.  

     I don’t want to give you the wrong impression, this book is not all sadness.  There are plenty of happy times for everyone.  I loved how the community seemed to be one big extended family.  No matter what anyone was facing, there was always someone around to help.

     I liked that the story kept you guessing as to what was going to happen next.  There never seemed to be a dull moment. I was happy that in the end, everyone got their HEA.  No, it wasn’t perfect as the only way to make it perfect would have been to have Tyler and Ricky alive; however, it was a good conclusion to a difficult situation.  I would highly recommend this book.

      Umm, I really don’t know where to start with this one.  This book hooked me in right from the start and didn’t let go until the very last page.  Even then I was wanting more.  The book starts with Gemini doing what she loves to do, mountain biking, when disaster strikes.  She is left with a head injury that causes so much pain she begins seeking relief with illegal drugs.  When Drexel first sees Gemini his whole life changes.  He can’t explain why he is drawn to her, but knows he has to protect her.  When she is almost abducted he comes to her rescue and learns there is more than what meets the eye.  They soon come to learn that a terrorist group as well as the CIA are after Gemini for information they think she has. 

     We follow them through twist and turns as they try to uncover the mystery of why so many people want her.  During the course of the story both come to realize they love each other and would do anything to protect the other.

      I love the funny banter between Gemini and Drexel, to me it personalizes the book.  For instance, I could really picture the follow as it was taking place:     

 

“Have you ever worn night-vision goggles?” I ask.

“Sure. I wear them all the time.”

“Okay, smart-ass.” 

“Seriously? Drexel, where in the world would I wear

night-vision goggles?” 

“I don’t know. Hunting?”  She shakes her head.

“Yeah, my mom and I used to hunt big game in our backyard when I was a kid. 

Lions and tigers.  Once I even shot a wildebeest.”

 

     I love a book that can weave in suspense, mystery, love, humorous banter and a HEA altogether.  Since I don’t believe in giving out any spoilers, you will not find any of that here.  Go get your copy today, I promise you will not be disappointed!

     Sage Mathews has been in love with the Harper brothers for 10 years.  She talks or sees them daily as they are friends, but she longs for the day that she can have what she really wishes for.  She doesn’t think they see her as anything other than a friend/little sister, until one day her eyes are opened and she gets to experience her deepest fantasies. 

     Logan, Caleb and Zeb are tired of waiting to make Sage theirs.  They only want their other brother, Mac, to come to terms with what they have always known…Sage belongs to them.  The three brothers decide it is time to show Sage how they feel and only hope she feels the same. 

     Sage can hardly believe here dreams are coming true and she only wishes the one she longed for the most would come around.  However, things don’t go as planned and Mac takes what he wants from her, leaving her broken.  It is up to the rest of the brothers to put her back together and show her how much she means to them. 

     This book is a journey to find and accept love.  I enjoyed the book and reading about the journeys each were going through in their quest to find happiness.  The story was told in the POVs of each person which I love!  While I was upset with Mac and the things he did, by the end of the book I kinda had a soft spot for him.  I hope that eventually he finds what he needs and gets his own HEA.  I loved how the Logan, Caleb and Zeb continued to show Sage how much she meant to them and how much they loved her.

      One of my favorite parts of any book is the epilogue.  That is no different here.  It gives us a look at the next book about Sage’s sister Skilyr.  I look forward to reading that book as I want her to get a HEA too!  I hope we also get additional books for Sage’s friends Brianna, Lilly and Kaidence.

     If you are looking for a book with sexy, smokin’ hot brothers and one lucky girl, you will not be disappointed in this book.  The sex scenes are flippin’ hot and make you wish you were Sage!

One day, on her way home from work as a sales manager, A. M. Review -- The Tycoon's Revenge (Baby for the Billionaire Book One) by Melody Anne

      I fell in love with Melody Anne’s writing while reading the Surrender Series so I decided to read another one of her books.  I am not disappointed in my decision in doing so.  In The Tycoon’s Revenge we meet a wealthy Jasmine and a poor Derek as they discuss their plans to run away together and live happily ever after.  They are madly in love and want nothing else than to spend the rest of their lives together.  However, nothing is ever that simple. 
     Fast forward 10 years later and they meet once again and their roles are reversed.  Derek is now a wealthy Tycoon and Jasmine is struggling to get by.  Both are bitter with each other for the hurt they believed the other one caused and want to move on with their lives.  What Derek doesn’t know is that Jasmine is keeping a very big secret.  Once the secret is revealed, Derek demands they move in together and get married.  Jasmine agrees, although reluctantly, and does as he says. 
     Prior to their wedding they realize they still have feelings for each other, but cannot forgive the past betrayals.  Once the truth about their past is revealed, they finally get their HEA.  This is a book about true love and how nothing can break that bond.  Even when they felt they were wronged by the other, they still loved each other.  I really enjoyed Jasmine and Derek and was relieved when the truth was exposed and they got their HEA.  Now, I have to read The Tycoon’s Vacation to see if Drew gets his HEA!
