“What’s in the bag?” I ask
while slamming the grade book closed earning his attention.
“You look so hot Erin. I’m
having a really hard time keeping my hands off of you right now.” He says
finally pulling a green apple out of the bag.
Turning around, he says
goodbye and heads towards the door as the second bell rings. My classroom is
still empty and my hormones are on high Walker alert.
“Why a green apple, Walker?
Aren’t apples for teachers typically red?” I call out before he hits the
doorway.
Without missing a beat he
spins around, arms braced on the doorframe, and I’m met with lust filled eyes.
His black polo stretching as far as it will go across his heaving chest. “I’ve
heard green makes you horny.”
“You don’t need anything
green to get me horny, Walker. All you have to do is walk into a room,” I
state, and by his expression I can tell he wasn’t expecting that to come out of
my mouth.
Pushing off the frame he
stalks towards me like a man on a mission. As soon as he is a breath away his
palms wrap around my neck pulling his mouth to mine. This kiss is different
than the atmosphere. It’s gentle, fueled by passion, and sexy as hell. At any
moment we could be caught but I don’t care. My no touching below the belt rule
is killing me and my dreams are getting more and more persistent. I want him
and I want him here. Now.
Dragging himself away from
me with a pained look he smiles and I realize he just doesn’t want to stop.
“You surprise me Erin. At every turn I am taken by surprise and I love it.” He
walks backwards and runs his hands through his hair. “I’m falling for you,
baby. Hard. Real hard.”
And he’s gone before he can
hear me whisper “me too.”

Review
Wow, where do I even start?
This is the third book in the Too Deep Series and it is every bit as
emotional as the previous two. We met
Becki and Calon in the previous books, so it is great to get to read their
story. This book has a little bit of
everything: love, angst, sabotage, wonderful miracles, heartbreak and so much
more.
The book starts with
the band Calon sings in, Alternate Tragedy, on the road and ready to start
touring. Becki is the band manager and
will do whatever it takes to help the boys succeed. Not only does the band’s popularity grow, but
the feelings between Becki and Calon grow as well. Before they left for the tour, they knew
there was something special happening between them; but now the feelings are
beginning to intensify.
Both are hesitate
to give all of their hearts to the other person, but soon find out that they
are unable to control their hearts. They
are made for each other in every way imaginable. I think the thing that made their
relationship so strong was their desire to wait and have a physical
relationship. They wanted to get to know
each other on a deeper level and that only made their relationship more
solid. However, once they did give in
and succumb to the heat between them, it was out of this world!
Becki and Calon’s
relationship is so wonderful and he is the perfect man to break down the walls
around her heart. Just when you think
things are going great, something happens to put all of the hard work of the
band in jeopardy. It seems that not
everyone is happy with the bands success and tries on several occasions to end
their dreams.
The bands dreams
are not the only things threatened though.
When Becki gets shocking news from her doctor, she doesn’t know how to
tell Calon. This news is going to change
their lives forever. When Calon does
find out, his reaction just makes me love him a little more. He is such a wonderful man and the perfect
other half to Becki.
This books has so
many ups and downs, that you will find it hard to put down. It seems as though there are constantly curve
balls being thrown their way, but the way these two band together to overcome
their obstacles is extraordinary. I
loved the ending of the book, even if it did have me on the edge of my seat. I believe anyone who reads this book will not
be disappointed. It was a wonderful book
with a great ending that I will definitely go back and read again.

“Becki!
Go! I don’t want you near this!” I turned back toward Max. I’d allowed my eyes
off him for way too long.
“This?
What is this about, Calon?” Max was a
dumbass for challenging me with semantics.
“You’re
hands all over Becki. That’s what this is
about, Max!” I motioned between us with my hand.
Just
then the beat of “Tsunami” by Dvvbs and Borgeous bounced the floor. The music
was so loud it’s all I could hear. Max’s mouth flapped, but I had no idea what
he said. I didn’t need to hear anything to read his cocky swagger as he walked
toward me or the two middle fingers he shot up when he got within reach. That’s
when it all went down.
Max
threw the first punch, seemingly in response to what he knew was coming his
way. He caught me in the jaw, and I heard Becki shriek my name, but my head
sprung back instantly, and my eyes locked on his. My fist connected with the
side of his head right at his temple, and I felt something in my hand crack,
but I felt no pain.
“Calon
James! Knock it the fuck off!” Becki’s voice was garbled, like it was coming at
me through liquid.
I
wanted to just leave with her and keep her safe, but the cocky motherfucker in
front of me needed to feel the line I
was drawing in the sand. He came at me again, this time he ducked and ran
straight into my chest with his head. I curled my arms under his and brought
them up violently and made contact with his chest with a deep thunk. I could
feel the hit reverberate through my forearms.
He staggered back, but his feet caught up with his body and he kept his
footing.
“You
think you’re such a fuckin’ hot shot, don’t you?” He was calling me the hot shot?
I
shook out the hand that hit him, and then ran it through my hair. I shoved the
other hand in the pocket of my jeans. “Are we done, Max?” I had to yell over
the music, and he was less than three feet from me. I drew my line. He needed
to understand his boundaries if we were going on tour together, but I didn’t
need to kill him. We could be done as soon as he got the point.
“Dude,
we’re done when I walk out the front door with Becki.” His lip curled when he
said her name, which sent a shock through my body I’d never felt before. I
could only imagine what went through his mind as her name rolled off his
tongue. We weren’t done.
I lost it and caught him in the head again
with my fist. No doubt, I felt that one. I took another shot and made abrupt
contact with his jaw then another. Becki was yelling, but I couldn’t make sense
of anything she said, the music was too loud. Someone grabbed me from behind
and pulled me back. “Dude, he’s not worth it, let’s bounce. C’mon, Cal, don’t
do this.” Spider, always the voice of reason.
I
nodded and wrestled my arms back from him. I took a deep breath and calmly
walked back over to where Max was crouched, trying to get up.
“Max,
you were out of line.” I crouched down in front of him and watched him wipe the
blood coming from his nose with the back of his hand. I didn’t want to
apologize. I wanted to continue smashing his head with my fist, but that wasn’t
how I wanted people to see me. “Stay away from her. She’s not yours to take.”
“And
I’m not yours to take either!”
Becki’s voice was loud and clear as the song ended. I stood and turned to her.
She didn’t say another word, but her eyes said it all. I’d disappointed her.
That revelation stung way worse than if she’d just punched me in the gut.

Exclusive Excerpt: ~Gail~ I startled myself awake and checked the clock. “Shit, shit, shit,” I muttered. I had overslept by nearly thirty-five minutes. I flew out of bed and darted for the bathroom to take a shower, realizing I must not have heard Damon getting out of bed this morning. He usually woke up nearly an hour before me, and I always heard him clunking around, so I’d stopped setting my alarm. Bad idea. I had stayed up late last night, reading a steamy romance novel, while waiting for him to come home. I must have slept like a rock. I slid to a stop in the bathroom and locked the door. I was used to locking it now, thanks to having a roommate. With quick succession, I stripped off my clothes and showered in lightning speed. Then, I dried off and noticed I’d forgotten to grab my scrubs for work. After I securely wrapped my towel around me, tucking it under my armpits, I cracked the door open to take a quick peek just in case. The coast was clear, so I ran for it, mindful that my feet were still damp in my hastiness. Three feet from my bedroom door, Damon rounded the corner, rubbing his head sleepily with his hand. His eyes bulged when he looked up. “What the—” I loudly gasped as I crashed into him, expecting to tumble to the floor in a heap of tangled limbs. Damon’s broad arms caught me, wrapping around my waist, while my hands clung to his biceps for balance. Once I got my footing, I peeked up at him. “Hi,” I whispered breathily. His eyes were smoldering hot, darker than I’d ever seen them before, and his jaw was set. At first, I thought he was pissed, but the increasing firmness against my abdomen told me otherwise. Heat flared inside me at our contact, and desire burned within me once again. “Hi,” he murmured back in a rough tone. A second passed, or maybe several, and neither of us moved. Damon kept one hand firmly on my waist while lifting the other to cup my cheek. He caressed it back and forth with a gentleness that sent shivers racing down my back. I melted into his touch. His eyes raked over my body as he ran his thumb over my lips, tracing them, while he murmured my name. I leaned into him and brushed his lips with mine, causing him to gently glide his fingertips down to the base of my throat. Ignoring all the reasons why this was a really bad idea, I gave myself over to what my body so desperately wanted. A groan left his throat as his palm came to my neck, pulling my lips closer. He took my mouth and kissed me deeply. His kiss rocked me back on my heels, and I grasped him like a lifeline, matching his passion as I kissed him back with equal fervor. Sparks ignited within every part of me. By the time we parted, we were both gasping for air. After the most perfect moment of my life, doubts came barreling into me and knocked the wind right out of me. “Oh my God…I’m so sorry. I don’t know what came over me.” I shook my head in dismay and embarrassment at succumbing to my crush on him. This was all my fault. “I have to go.” I went to disengage myself from him, but he held me in place. “Wait,” he demanded. I could see the confusion mixed with hurt in his expression. The look had me feeling even worse. “We need to talk about this.” “No, we don’t.” I felt at a total loss and out of my league. “I kissed you, and I’m sorry. It won’t happen again.” “We kissed each other,” he countered. “And what if I want to do it again?” “We can’t,” I retorted and looked up at him. “It will ruin everything.” “Ruin what?” he asked quietly. If Damon dumped me like the last guy and the guy before that, it would destroy me, and I could not let that happen. I was a stronger woman now. Plus, I was riding a very thin line with my finances, and if Damon and I crossed this boundary between us, there would be no going back. Things were perfect the way they were now. I did not want to mess it up. Plus, Caroline’s education was partially riding on my shoulders, which in turn was riding on having a roommate help pay my rent. It was an awful double standard, yes, but there was no other way. It was too risky. I would have to just live with my attraction to him. Clay picked Shelby up under her ass. She wrapped
